Our Mobile Camping
What happens on our mobile camping safaris?
You will share your car with your driver-guide, cook and camping equipment and head to your first campsite. You will drop the cook and all of the equipment off at the site, then off you go and enjoy your day on a game drive. When you return you will find your tents set up ready and waiting for you along with some refreshments. Your cook will have dinner ready for the evening. Our cooks constantly astound us with the variety of great food they can produce in the middle of the bush! If you have any particular dietary requirements just let us know and you will be catered for! (It is best to let us know in advance).
The campsites are public campsites sometimes outside and sometimes inside the parks. We choose campsites that we hope do not get too crowded and the facilities are clean. Of course if you are in the middle of the Serengeti in the dry season, do not be surprised if water is very limited for showers!!
The cars have pop-up viewing roofs which lock into position. There is plenty of room to move about and take photos while having shade from the strong sun. We have in-car battery chargers so you can charge camera batteries on the go.
Each evening your guide will talk to you about the next day’s activities. Our philosophy is that this is YOUR safari therefore the guide is free to start game driving at times which suit you. We don’t restrict times or mileage. Your guide of course will know how much journey time etc lies ahead of you so he will advise you of the best programme for the day to maximise your experience.
